I am a native Hoosier now living on the south suburbs of Indianapolis. I attended Indiana University and earned a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. I later returned to Indiana University to earn an MBA with a focus in Management. Most of my career has been in the convenience store industry where I held varying roles doing acquistion modeling, FP&A, accounting, and property management. My last role was as Director of Property Management where I led a team of 16 people and oversaw property management functions for all Circle K stores east of the Mississippi River.
In spring of 2021, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in Tech. After taking some time off to rejuvenate and enjoy fatherhood, I enrolled in the Eleven Fifty Academy Software Development boot camp. It was a challenging 12-week program focusing on C#/.Net software development, HTML/CSS front end, Git, Agile workflow, and more. I look forward to applying this new foundational skillset alongside my prior experience in the Tech industry.
When not coding or being a dad, I am an avid backpacker. In summer of 2021, I hiked 285 miles on the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain, GA to Hot Springs, NC. My goal is to complete the entire AT in my lifetime. I have also been on numerous backpacking trips in Colorado, Tennessee, Wyoming, California, Maryland, and Indiana. I am a serial hobby collector and also enjoy amateur radio (callsign K9FRO), collecting vinyl records, waterfowl hunting, Linux computing (RaspberryPi, Linux Mint), and more!
